This is a conceptual portrait of my Dad. I wanted to do something to honor him, to express how much I respect and love him so I created "Father of Civilization." I merged my father’s likeness with an African sculpture from antiquity to represent the past. His likeness represents the present and the overall design intimates the future. The helmet of Kings has flames that symbolize the passion that he exudes for his beliefs. The laser beams of light within the flames are the Divine wisdom that comes to those who are in tune with love and life. The water that the statue stands within represents the constant change and evolution of life. The water is actually comprised of people, representing the community of man that supports and believes in his ideas. Honor your parents in their lifetime!
